As we can see , swimming pool sand filter is important for swimming pool water treatment. It will help the sand filter work better if make the regular automatic backwashing.
How to determine if a sand filter needs back wash ?
1. Check the pressure gauge.
2. Observe the water flow and quality.
* Weakened water flow at the outlet: When the water flow at the pool's outlet or inlet is significantly weakened, it indicates increased system resistance, likely due to sand filter blockage.
* Persistently cloudy pool water: If the pool water's chemical balance is normal, but it still appears cloudy, foggy, or even green, it may mean the filter has failed and needs immediate cleaning.
* Dirty outflow: If the outflow water looks dirtier than the inflow, it clearly indicates the filter media needs cleaning.
3. Recommended backflushing time: Under normal circumstances, it is recommended to backflush every 1-2 weeks or 2-3 times per month.
4. Special triggering conditions: In the following situations, even if the predetermined cycle has not yet arrived, backflushing should be performed immediately:
(1) After high-intensity use: Such as after pool parties, swimming competitions, etc., when the pool load surges.
(2) After severe weather: After heavy rain, sandstorms, etc., a large amount of impurities enter the water.
(3) Algae bloom: The appearance of algae in the pool water indicates a significant increase in filtration pressure.
(4) Before long-term shutdown: If the equipment is scheduled to be shut down for more than 5 days, it should be cleaned before shutdown to prevent dirt from accumulating.
